The South Korean Fair Trade Commission has drafted a measure to relieve the overconcentration of convenience stores. The new measures state that rival convenience store brands must maintain a distance of at least 50 to 100m from each other, depending on the region. The Korea Association of Convenience Store Industry (sic), which includes GS25, CU, 711, Ministop and C Space, has agreed to abide by the new measure, which will apply to 96% percent of convenience stores in South Korea.
