According to the market research firm Strategy Analytics, Chinese smartphone maker Huawei occupies 33.7% of the Chinese smartphone market as of the first quarter of 2019, an increase of 22.5% from the previous year. Vivo, increased from 17.1% to 20%, while Oppo increased from 18.4% to 19.%. Xiaomi, however, saw a drop in market share from 13.8% to 11.9%. The four Chinese firms have a combined share of 85.1% of the Chinese market for the first quarter of 2019, an increase of 13.3% from the previous year. Samsung Electronics, however, has a share of 1.1% of the Chinese market for the first quarter of 2019, compared to 1.3% for last year. Apple also saw a decrease in market share from 9.9% to 6.7%.
