The South Korean Ministry of Environment has determined that 10,261 diesel vehicles made by Audi Volkswagen Korea and Porsche Korea have excessive emissions of nitrogen oxides, a substance associated with fine particle pollution. The two carmakers have also been found to have manipulated their emissions technology to cheat emissions tests. Audi Volkswagen is expected to be slapped with a fine of 7.9 billion won (US$6.5 million) and Porsche Korea a fine of 4 billion won (US$3.3 million). The vehicles in question include three Audi A6 models, two Audi A7 models, two Volkswagen Touareg models, and a Porsche Cayenne model. (provided by the Ministry of Environment)
