American safety certification company UL LLC has concluded that Samsung’s QLED 8K and 4K TVs pose no “no photobiological LED hazard,” while German technical-scientific association VDE granted the TVs its “eye safety” certification. “While Samsung QLED TVs emit high luminance and brightness, our TVs are designed to protect the eyesight without losing the truly immersive viewing experience,” said Yong Hoon Choi, executive vice president of Samsung’s visual display branch.
