A former worker at a Samsung Electronics semiconductor factory who was diagnosed with breast cancer after being exposed to hazardous materials has finally been recognized as an industrial accident victim, 13 years after her diagnosis. On May 18, the victim advocacy group Banollim announced that the Korea Workers Compensation and Welfare Service recognized the former Samsung worker’s illness as an industrial accident on Apr. 27.
