Hyundai Motor has become the first automaker to mass produce and export hydrogen fuel-cell electric trucks. The South Korean car manufacturer shipped 10 XCIENT Fuel Cell hydrogen trucks to Switzerland from the Port of Gwangyang in South Jeolla Province on July 6, the company announced. Hyundai plans to deliver 40 more XCIENT trucks to Switzerland by the end of 2020, part of a long-term contract to supply 1,600 XCIENT models to the European country through 2025. Europe is an important market for hydrogen vehicles, as strict environmental regulations are expected to boost demand for zero-emission commercial vehicles. (provided by the Hyundai Motor)
