Global fast food chains like McDonald’s are suffering from a plunge in sales, especially when it comes to their breakfast menu. McDonald’s sales for the second quarter diminished by 30% compared to the same period last year. Around 25 to 50% of the losses came from sluggish sales during the morning hours. Dunkin Donuts experienced a sales drop of 39% compared to the same period last year, while Starbucks recorded a net loss of US$678.4 million.
