Competition in the smartphone industry is expected to focus more on foldable products. Samsung Electronics is expected to release its Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 2, the company’s next lineup of foldable smartphones, on Sept. 18. Samsung recently revealed the Galaxy Z Fold 2 during its Galaxy Unpacked 2020 event earlier this month. Although Samsung’s first foldable smartphone, the Galaxy Fold, initially had some problems with the display cracking where it folded, the Galaxy Fold 2 is supposed to be marked improvement. Motorola, having released its first foldable smartphone in February, is expected to release a new line on Sept. 9. Microsoft is expected to release its own foldable device, the Surface Duo, on Sept. 12. Huawei is scheduled to release its Mate X2 in the latter half of 2020.
