South Korean singer Psy topped the iTunes charts with his song “That That,” the lead single of his ninth studio album “Psy 9th.”

Psy’s agency P Nation announced on Saturday that “That That” had become the No. 1 song on the Top Song chart on iTunes in 73 countries including the US, Japan, and Canada. “Psy 9th,” the album “That That” is featured on, also topped the Top Album chart of the streaming platform in Indonesia, Singapore and Taiwan.

Psy’s newest hit is a dance song he created in collaboration with BTS member Suga, who also appeared in the song’s music video. All eyes are on whether it will sweep Billboard charts like Psy’s “Gangnam Style” or BTS’ “Dynamite.”

In a video interview posted on Psy’s social media on Wednesday, Psy and Suga said they “hit it off and worked together very swiftly and efficiently, as if playing table tennis,” adding, “we didn’t feel the age difference.”

Suga said that although he was nervous at first because Psy was such a giant in the music industry, he came to enjoy working with Psy, who felt like a childhood friend to him. “We became best friends of sorts,” he said.

During a Friday press event for his first album in five years held at the Fairmont Ambassador Seoul in Yeouido, Seoul, during which he played his new release, Psy said about K-pop’s reception by the world, “I think BTS and Black Pink will last long. They are doing very well. BTS especially realized my dashed dream of topping the Billboard [charts], and I remember cheering for them for that achievement.”

The album “Psy 9th,” which aims to showcase the versatility of Psy, features 12 songs including cheerful dance numbers and tracks with warm sentimentality. Tracks on which he worked alone include “9Intro,” “Hello Monday,” “Everyday,” and “Dear Me,” while other songs on the album feature artists such as Sung Si-kyung, Heize, Jessi, Hwasa, Crush, and Tablo of Epik High.
