Actor Lee Jung-jae has been honored by Gold House on its 2024 A100 list, an annual list of the top 100 Asian and Pacific Islanders shaping US culture and society.

Gold House is a nonprofit organization that promotes the interests of creatives of Asian and Pacific Islander descent. Every year, Gold House selects 100 influential Asian and Pacific Islanders who have had an impact on US culture.

According to Artist Company, Lee’s agency, Gold House thought highly of Lee’s career as a South Korean actor, director, and producer, and noted how he has continued to thrive globally since his debut in 1993.

Gold House also noted that Lee was the first Asian star to win the Emmy Award for best male actor for his portrayal of the protagonist of “Squid Game,” and how his potential as a director was acknowledged when “Hunt,” a movie that he directed, wrote, and produced, premiered at the Cannes Film Festival.

Lee is also due to appear in “The Acolyte,” a new Star Wars series produced by Disney+. The series is set in the golden age of the Jedi and depicts the rising of evil forces as a series of murders targeting Jedi takes place. Expectation over the series is building, as it is set to open up a new story within the Star Wars universe.

The second season of Netflix’s “Squid Game,” the series that sent Lee’s career skyrocketing, is slated to be released in the latter half of 2024.
