Typhoon MB sweeps the nation, knocking down a utility pole symbolizing the media, a streetlight representing inter-Korean relations, a public telephone representing diplomacy and trees symbolizing the common people that have landed on a car standing in for the economy. President Lee Myung-bak, who is now in the midst of the second part of his five-year term, has drawn sharp criticism not only from his opponents but also from his supporters for his botched nomination of cabinet members, including Prime Minister-designate Kim Tae-ho, who were forced to withdraw over allegations of corruption and other ethics violations. The president has also faced criticism for policies that were touted as benefiting the working class, but which many people believe ultimately benefit the wealthy.
