Family members of Ssangyong Motors and Yoosung Enterprise Co., Ltd. (YPR) workers enjoy Ganggangsullae, Korean traditional dance, hand in hand with family members of Hanjin Heavy Industries and Construction (HHIC) workers at the Memorial Center of Pusan Democracy Park in Busan, June 26.

They all wear t-shirts with a crane robot character to display their solidarity. The family members came there to raise spirits and support HHIC workers and family members via the “Hope Train 85.” Ssangyong Motors and YPR have both experienced fierce clashes between labor union members and management.

Citizens and union members visited HHIC’s Yeongdo shipyard in Busan by bus or train to lend their support to HHIC workers who have continued a sit-in strike and Korean Confederation of Trade Unions Busan office Direction Committee member Kim Jin-suk, who has staged an aerial protest atop crane No. 85 for almost six months against massive layoffs at HHIC.
