Soldiers, fire-fighters and residents work to clean up mud and debris in a apartment complex damaged by a landslide in Seocho District, Seoul, July 29.

Around 3,000 people helped with cleanup efforts in eight districts, and the number is expected to increase to 10,000 volunteers by Sunday, the Seoul Volunteer Center reported.

The downpours in Seoul have caused 59 deaths, and 10 remained missing as of early Friday.  Torrential rains are expected to arrive once again next week, according to the Korea Meteorological Administration.
