Hands seeking a voice were raised throughout the audience and loud shouts tell their stories. The voice of people supressed by the court’s power appears ardent as if they could not stand any longer. It was an event entitled, “Understanding 2012, Into the people,” hosted by Seoul Central District Court on Feb. 6.

The event was held to provide a forum for citizens to communicate with the court. The court’s first step to get closer to the people has been quite rocky, though we hope this first step leads to productive dialogue between people and the court.
