Korea Tourism Organization (KTO) has released “Visit Korea 2.0”, a new tourist app that will facilitate access to information about travel in Korea. KTO hopes to attract more foreign visitors and satisfy the demand of the growing number of travelers using smart phones. “Visit Korea 2.0” is an “App-book” (application booklet) that was developed from the original ’Korea- illustrated booklet‘, which is a paper-based booklet.

Recently, special attention has been drawn to “App-book”, which is an app version of an e-book that can be used on smart phones and tablet PCs. Application booklet is an interactive app with a combination of multimedia features that includes pictures, music and video clips. It is more convenient and user-friendly than the original e-books.

“Visit Korea 2.0” is based on the theme, “Korea’s unique spirit”. The app contains information about travel and Korea‘s tourist attractions, restaurants, accommodations, cultural heritage, shops, and other topics. The great combination of multimedia contents featuring high quality photos, music, illustrations and video clips vividly delivers the information to users. One of the special features of “Visit Korea 2.0” is that the structure of the screen has been optimized to enhance readability.

“Visit Korea 2.0” has also become more user-friendly by adding convenient functions, such as links to Social Networking Services and a map to assist travelers in navigation using GPS. “Visit Korea 2.0” can be downloaded easily from iTunes App Store and Google Play Store for iPhones and Android Phones, or by scanning the QR (Quick Response) Codes.

KTO Public Relations team chief Chung Byung-ok said, “We hope that ’Visit Korea 2.0‘ is now the essential traveling app for foreign visitors to Korea. We will continue to improve on the content and enhance user-friendliness, and develop various forms of new digital materials that promote Korea.”
