The Olympic flame handover ceremony took place at the Panatheniac Stadium in Athens, Greece, on Oct. 31 as South Korean gold medalist Kim Yu-na (left) and Do Jong-hwan, Minister of Culture, Sports, and Tourism, received the flame in preparation of the 100-day Olympic torch relay around the host country.

The flame arrived at Incheon Airport on the morning of Nov. 1 and will be taken to 17 cities on a 2018 km route through South Korea prior to the beginning of the games, which run from Feb. 9 - 25. This is the first time that Korea will host the Olympics since the 1988 Summer games took place in Seoul.
