The Seoul Kimchi Festival opened in Seoul Plaza in the Jongno District on Nov. 3 and will run until Nov. 5. Participants can learn about all aspects of traditional kimjang (kimchi making in preparation for the winter season) culture and have the chance to experience making kimchi for themselves. 120 tons of kimchi made by the roughly 4700 people who attended the first day of the festival will be donated to low-income households around the country.
