The grain silos of Incheon’s Inner Harbor were once viewed as industrial eyesores on the landscape. However, an artistic makeover has converted the silos into the world’s largest outdoor mural, a status verified by the Guinness Book of World Records. Since the silos stand 48m tall, 168m wide and 31.5m thick, the painting covers a total surface area of 25,000 square meters. The painting stretches across all 16 silos, depicting a boy on a bicycle as well as books with titles related to growth. The mural was a collaborative project involving the Incheon city government, the Port of Incheon, Incheon Business Information Technopark and TBT Korea. (Baek So-ah, staff photographer)
