Protesting re-dispatch of troops to Afghanistan
» Protesting re-dispatch of troops to Afghanistan.
Members from the Preparation Committee of the Anti War Alliance for Peace (AWAP) consisting of 50 civic organizations hold up signboards that read, ¡°Opposition against Re-dispatch of troopsto Afghanistan¡± during a press conference held at the People¡¯s Solidarity for Participatory Democracy building located in Seoul¡¯s Jongno district, Nov. 2.

Since Oct. 30 when the South Government announced its plan to re-dispatch troops to Afghanistan, civic and peace organizations have been busy conducting an anti-war campaign. The AWAP held a candlelight vigil demonstration to oppose the Lee administration policy at Myung-dong, Oct. 31.

An official of AWAP says it will be holding various types of demonstrations to stop the re-dispatch of troops to Afghanistan.
