Amnesty International and other civic groups protested against the Aerospace and Defense Exposition (ADEX) during the event’s opening reception at the Le Méridien Seoul in the Nonheyon District of Gangnam on Oct 16. One demonstrator hung a sign reading “Stop the Weapons Trade” over the railing of the hall while the reception was taking place. Other protestors holding homemade signs were also removed by security. The next day, on the first day of the official event at Seoul Air Base in Seongnam City on Oct. 17, protestors stood across from the American defense company Lockheed Martin shaming the representative.
