The newly appointed US Ambassador to South Korea, Harry Harris, uploaded a video on the US Embassy Seoul’s Twitter account (@USEmbassySeoul) on July 5. Harris begins the video message with a friendly greeting and brief introduction: “Hello, everyone. I’m Harry Harris. And I’ll be coming to Seoul soon as the US ambassador to the Republic of Korea.” Harris also referred to South Korea as an “ally and important partner of the US, not only in Northeast Asia but globally.” Harris’ father served in the US Navy and was stationed at the naval base of Jinhae during the Korean War.
