South Korean soccer fans are furious at Cristiano Ronaldo after the international soccer star failed to live up to an agreement to play in a friendly match between Italy’s Juventus FC and the K League All-Stars, which was hosted at the Seoul World Cup Stadium on July 26. Ticket prices for the event soared up to as high as around 400,000 won (US$330). An online community of fans denouncing Ronaldo’s behavior gathered in front of the Korea Football Association on Aug. 5 to demand a refund for ticket purchases and compensation. The Festa, the agency which organized Ronald’s visit to Korea, has released an official apology to Korean fans. Ronaldo had agreed to play for at least 45 minutes, but didn’t step into for a single second, remaining on the bench throughout the entire match.
