The Chinese government has announced its plan to provide protective masks and suits to South Korea as the country continues to battle its novel coronavirus outbreak. On Mar. 7, the Chinese Embassy in South Korea announced that Chinese Ambassador to South Korea Xing Haiming met with Assistant Deputy Foreign Minister Kim Geon on Mar. 6 to discuss the Chinese government’s aid project for South Korea. Xing said the aid package includes 100,000 N95 masks, an additional 1 million in protective medical masks, and 10,000 protective medical suits. Xing added that China is willing to provide 50,000 diagnosis kits if necessary. South Korea had provided China with masks and other equipment on Jan. 30, when China was struggling with its outbreak.
