A government charter flight for South Korean nationals residing in Iran, where the novel coronavirus is rapidly spreading, arrived at Incheon International Airport on Mar. 19, 4:35 am. The plane had 80 passengers, among whom two were tested after exhibiting symptoms. The results of the test are currently pending. Among the flight’s passengers, 74 are South Korean nationals, while six are Iranian nationals with Korean family members. The Iran Air flight departed from Tehran on Mar. 18 and made a stop in Dubai, where passengers changed aircraft to an Asiana Airlines plane before continuing onward to Incheon. US sanctions currently prohibit Iranian aircraft from entering certain territories, thus necessitating the change in aircraft.
