South Korea will donate 10,000 masks as well as hand sanitizer and other disease prevention equipment to Native American veterans of the Korean War (1950-53). On May 18, the Ministry of Patriots and Veterans Affairs announced that the 70th Anniversary of the Korean War Commemoration Committee will provide the masks and hand sanitizer to Navajo veterans to commemorate their service. Around 800 Navajo soldiers fought in the Korean War, and around 130 lost their lives. The Navajo currently reside in Arizona, New Mexico, and Utah.
