[%%IMAGE1%%]<p>The 2020 Cannes Film Festival has selected two South Korean films: Yeon Sang-ho’s “Peninsula,” the sequel to the zombie thriller “Train to Busan” (2016), and Im Sang-soo’s “Heaven: To the Land of Happiness,” selected from among 2,067 candidates. On June 4, festival coordinator Thierry Fremaux and Cannes President Pierre Lescure revealed the list of 56 films for this year’s official selection. The Cannes Film Festival had originally been scheduled for May 12-13, but was canceled amid the COVID-19 pandemic. The films will be screened instead in cooperation with other festivals worldwide. “Peninsula” is a continuation of the zombie-run apocalypse of “Train to Busan,” while “Heaven: To the Land of Happiness,” as the title suggests, is a tale of two men and their search for happiness.
