The 1,504th Wednesday demonstration for the "comfort women" victims commemorated the 30th anniversary of the first open testimony by Kim Hak-sun on Aug. 14, 1991, when she spoke about the military sexual slavery perpetrated by the Japanese army during the Second World War.

This particular demonstration was held under the slogan "Kim Hak-sun's courage awakened the world.” The demonstration took place as a one-person protest due to Level 4 social distancing measures applied throughout Seoul.
