Cluster infections among foreign workers have arisen at a construction site in Yangju, Gyeonggi Province, and a manufacturing company in Pocheon, Gyeonggi Province.

According to the province, after a foreign worker on a construction site in Yangju tested positive for COVID-19 on Aug. 28, a total of 12 foreign workers have tested positive in connection to the site.

Since Thursday, a total of 13 workers — including nine non-Koreans — at a manufacturing company in Pocheon tested positive for COVID-19. The Korea Disease Control and Prevention Agency has tested 55 people in relation to the two clusters, and is carrying out contract tracing.

New cases in Gyeonggi Province reached 703, a new record-high following the previous record of 698 on Sept. 1.
