Kim Keon-hee, the wife of President Yoon Suk-yeol, paid a courtesy call on Lee Soon-ja, wife of the late Chun Doo-hwan, on Thursday.

Kim arrived at Lee’s residence, in Seoul’s Yeonhui neighborhood, at 2:55 pm and immediately went inside without answering questions from reporters.

Kim returned to the home’s front gate about an hour and a half later. After saying goodbye to Lee, who had followed her outside, Kim stepped into a vehicle provided by the presidential office’s security service.

The presidential office said that Kim’s visit was intended to “show respect to a former first lady.”
