To mark Railway Day on June 28, the Korean Railway Workers’ Union held a rally and march against the privatization of railways in front of Seoul Station and the Yongsan presidential office.

The organizers estimated that about 4,000 railroad workers participated in the rally held by the union in front of Seoul Station around 2 pm on Tuesday.

Amid Tuesday’s rain, unionists took part in the mass rally wearing raincoats, voicing their opposition to railroad privatization and calling for the nation’s high-speed railways to be integrated. They then marched to Yongsan, in front of the presidential office.

This is the first time that such a massive rally has marched in front of the presidential office since it was relocated from the Blue House to Yongsan. We’ve gathered photos of Tuesday’s rally.
