Ssangyong Motors union members provide testimony about police brutality during the recent strike at the automaker‘s Pyeongtaek plant in a forum hosted by civic groups and labor organizations, including the Korea Confederation of Trade Unions and MINBYUN-Lawyers for a Democratic Society held at the National Assembly, Aug 13.

The union members are wearing masks for fear of possible retaliation from the police and Ssangyong Motors Company.

During the meeting, Kwon Ji-young, a family member of a union member, says, “I am so sad to see my husband jump at the sound of an ambulance because it reminds him of the sound of helicopters that were used to suppress the strike.”
