Lee So-seon, from the left, mother of martyred labor activist Chun Tae-il and a heroic activist of her own accord, sits in the front row of a protest against President Lee Myung-bak administration labor policies alongside Roh Hoe-chan, chairperson of the New Progressive Party, and Kang Ki-kap, chairperson of the Democratic Labor Party, Nov. 8.
Behind them sit over 50 thousand laborers participating in the national laborers¡¯ convention hosted by the Korea Confederation of Trade Unions (KCTU) at Yeouido Plaza.
The KCTU had previously announced plans to conduct a full-pledged General Strike on Nov. 22, and has now announced a blockade against the administration¡¯s plan to cut union representative¡¯s wages and damaging revisions to the Irregular Worker Law.
