<I>Pomminryon</i> members celebrate release

Senior members of southern branch of the Pomminryon, or the Pan-national Alliance for Korea’s Reunification, including the Chairman Lee Kyu-jae, center, are released from the Seoul Detention House on Nov. 27.

The Seoul Central District Court issued a decision on the same day to submit a petition to the Constitutional Court regarding the article of the Protection of Communications Secrets Act that allows unlimited packet eavesdropping by the National Intelligence Service (NIS). The court also made the decision to release those indicted on charges through the National Security Law after being subject to two years of unlimited packet eavesdropping by the NIS.
