Magestic ginko tree as witness in South Korea-Japan relations

The dawn brightens around the more than four-hundred-year-old ginko tree, Jan. 3.

The ginko tree once stood at the office of the Residency-General from Japan when Japan forcefully annexed Korea in 1910. This year is the 100-year anniversary of annexation.

The office of the Residency-General from Japan was demolished after a coup d’etat in 1961 and was replaced with a KCIA office.

The ginko tree appears to wish to remain around as a witness to a resolution in South Korea-Japan relations.
