Broadcaster Kim Mi-hwa will once again host a radio program for CBS, starting Nov. 7. It has been seven months since her controversial dismissal from the MBC radio program “Kim Mi Hwa’s The World and Us.”

“Kim will begin her program next month. The program contents will center on people’s livelihood and social affairs,” said a radio-programming official at CBS. The program will be aired for two hours from 2 to 4 p.m. daily.

Kim is expected to actively interact with listeners using her “widely-known friendly and kind image,” said CBS.

CBS said the comedian-turned-socialtainer and social critic will “offer critical and in-depth analysis on a wide range of domestic and international issues, but explain in a way that is easy to be understood for the public.”

“She will use not only conventional means of communication tool such as internet or phone, but also Twitter and other social networking sites to better communicate with people,” added the local broadcaster.

Kim has expanded her role from an entertainer to a so-called socialtainer using SNS with a significant number of followers on Twitter.

“The new program will try to listen to and understand challenges and happiness that comes along with ordinary people’s lives as well as offering critical commentary on economic, social and political affairs,” the official involved in the programming said.

“Kim said she is nervous, since it has been many months since she quit her MBC radio host, but she is determined to make the program successful and appealing to the listeners,” he added.
