Park Geun-hye will appear on the cover of Time Magazine’s Asia Edition on Dec. 17. The cover story explores Park’s chances of becoming South Korea’s first female president, but argues that in order to be elected, voters will have to look past the dictatorial legacy of her father, former president Park Chung-hee. Park holds a small lead over Democratic United Party presidential candidate Moon Jae-in ahead of the Dec. 19 election.

Park’s Saenuri Party gave the article’s title a positive spin by translating it into Korean from “Strongman’s Daughter” to “daughter of a strong leader”, when the English word ‘strongman’ refers to a dictator or tyrant.
