Protestors crowd Seoul Plaza outside of City Hall on the first anniversary of Park Geun-hye’s inauguration as president, Feb. 25. A general strike was organized by the Korea Confederation of Trade Unions in 12 cities across the country to protest state institutions’ interference in the 2012 presidential election, the suppression of labor, the privatization of public health and transportation facilities and calling for the restoration of democracy in South Korea.
