Around 1,400 striking Samsung Techwin workers shout slogans outside of the R&D Center in Pangyo, Gyeonggi Province, calling for work stability and improved treatment, Apr. 14. The strike started on Apr. 6 and 97.1% of workers approve of it. One union member said, “On April 13 the company unilaterally ordered us out, with no negotiations. We plan to continue the strike until our 49 demands are met”.

This is the first such strike at a Samsung subsidiary. After Samsung announced plans to sell Techwin the Hanwha, the workers organized. But due to Samsung’s no-union policy, the company doesn’t recognize the union. (provided by the Samsung Techwin Union)
