With temperatures dropping to -15 degrees and a wind chill of -23 in the early morning hours of Jan. 19, young people staging a sit-in to protect the comfort woman statue opposite the Japanese embassy cover themselves with large plastic sheets in an effort to endure the cold. The demonstrators said that several simple tents people had donated to them were declared prohibited items by the police and confiscated the night before.
