Park Rae-gun
Park Rae-gun, 55 (right), who was imprisoned pending trial on charges of organizing a memorial demonstration for the sinking of the Sewol ferry, embraces a supporter after his sentence of three years’ imprisonment was commuted to a four-year suspended sentence. Judge Sim Gyu-hong of Seoul Central District Court’s 27th criminal division acknowledged Park’s invocation that special unlawful interference was present in his case and changed the sentence accordingly on Jan. 22. Park was also ordered to perform 160 hours of community service. (by Lee Jung-yong, staff photographer)
