Hankyoreh also scored first in the product preference category, for the 9th year in a row

The Hankyoreh was named the top general daily newspaper in a 2016 survey of university student corporate image and product preferences conducted by the University News Network (UNN).

The Hankyoreh placed first among general dailies for trust (21.49%) and preference (22.13%) in the survey, for which UNN questioned 1,396 university students nationwide this year. The newspaper has ranked first in trust all 16 years since UNN began conducting the survey in 2001, and first in preference for the nine years since 2008. The liberal Kyunghyang Shinmun and conservative Joong-Ang Ilbo earned the second and third place spots both for trust at 17.7% and 12.5%, respectively, and for preference at 17.1% and 14.9%.

In the category of corporate image, companies such as Kookmin Bank (KB), Samsung Electronics, POSCO, Doosan Heavy Industries, GS Caltex, the Korea Tourism Organization, CJ, and Hyundai Motor placed high as preferred places of employment.

The survey was conducted online (PC and mobile) and by email in August and September. The margin of error was ±2.7 percentage points with a 95% confidence level.
