The “Ulsan Citizens Movement to Keep Pristine Shin-Kori 5 & 6” did 108 bows outside of the Ulsan City Hall to show their support for ceasing construction of the proposed nuclear reactors project. About 200 members of the group began the three-day demonstration on Oct. 17. 108 is a sacred number to both Buddhsim and Hinduism, and the bows are a traditional Buddhist prostration ritual for cleansing and opening the mind. Citizens will continue to be outside City Hall until the day of decision on Oct. 20. (by Sin Dong-myeong, Ulsan correspondent)
