Park Seong-su, a 45-year old environmental activist, showed his displeasure with the appellate court verdict in Samsung Electronics’ Vice Chairman Lee Jae-yong’s bribery case by spreading dog food on the entrance sign of the Seoul High Court in the capital’s Seocho district on Feb. 6. “Yesterday the judge issued the same ruling as a dog would have done, and so I came here to give this dog of a judge some food,” said Park. In the appeals trial, Hon. Judge Jeong Hyeong-sik of the Seoul High Court’s 13th criminal division issued a ruling overturning the five year prison sentence against Lee and sentencing him instead to two years and six months in prison, suspended for four years. Park’s sign reads, “Judge? Samsung legal team leader?” and the dog food package says, “The people’s dog food.” (taken from Park Seong-su’s Facebook page)
