A group of citizens gathered in Gwanghwamun Plaza on Apr. 14 to form a yellow ribbon to honor the victims of the Sewol ferry disaster. The event was called, “The promise of April 16 cultural festival,” and expressed the resolution of the participants to keep alive the memory of the Sewol victims. The flashmob demonstration was part of a larger gathering, which included students holding shirts on the steps of the Sejong Performing Arts Center. Two girls held shirts saying, “We will act,” while a sign between them reads, “We will never forget until the end.” (by Kim Chang-kwang, staff photographer)
