The Federation of Korean Trade Unions (FKTU) and the Korean Confederation of Trade Unions (KCTU), two labor organizations who rarely cooperate, have been recently united by their joint opposition to an amendment to the Minimum Wage Act. Members of FKTU and KCTU as well as a workers committee under the Minimum Wage Commission gather in front of the Constitutional Court of Korea in Seoul on June 19 to protest an amendment to the Minimum Wage Act that they have declared “unconstitutional” and a “violation of basic labor rights.” (Kim Seong-gwang, staff photographer)
