The RV Araon, South Korea’s only icebreaker, embarked from Incheon Port on July 19 for the Arctic to research climate change. The vessel is carrying an international team of researchers and scientists from nine countries. They will spend 77 days studying changes in ice levels in the Arctic Sea. Arctic ice levels are expected to be at their lowest in history this year.
