South Korea’s 4th longest sea-crossing bridge opened on Apr. 4. The Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport (MOLIT) announced on the same day that that bridge, after nearly a decade of construction, had finally opened for traffic. The name “Cheonsa,” which can mean either “1,004” or “angel,” was chosen in a public naming contest because of the 1,004 islands in the surrounding Sinan County. The bridge will allow nearly 9,000 nearby residents and visitors to travel the area more efficiently. Before, the best method of traveling the region was by boat. (provided by MOLIT)
