It’s been discovered that the infamous Hwaseong serial killer, who committed a series of murders from 1986 to 1991 in Hwaseong, Gyeonggi Province, has committed five murders in addition to the nine cases police have confirmed in investigations thus far. Furthermore, the suspect is believed to have committed more than 30 acts of sexual violence. The South Gyeonggi Provincial Police Agency held a press briefing on Oct. 2, during it revealed that the suspect raped and murdered his sister-in-law in January 1994, after which he committed nine more murders in an eight-year period. When factoring in the five additional murders, the suspect (surnamed Lee) is believed to have killed 14 people in total. The photo shows police investigation a murder scene in January 1987.
