[Photo] LKP leader holds hunger strike to protest Moon administration

Hwang Kyo-ahn, leader of the main opposition Liberty Korea Party (LKP), started a hunger strike in front of the Blue House on Nov. 20. Claiming the country is facing a “national crisis,” Hwang vowed to continue his fast until South Korean President Moon Jae-in decides to renew Seoul’s General Security of Military Information Agreement (GSOMIA) with Tokyo, which his set to expire on Nov. 23. Hwang went so far as to claim, “I am ready to fight to the death.” The LKP leader also called for the Moon administration to scrap its income-led model for economic growth.
