Following the government’s Feb. 23 announcement of South Korea’s “red alert” status amid the novel coronavirus outbreak, the Military Manpower Administration decided to suspend all conscription reviews for military service members for two weeks. As of the morning of Feb. 24, the Ministry of National Defense has confirmed 11 coronavirus cases among South Korean service members, with around 7,700 in quarantine.
